Hurricane Sarah

Wow, just, wow.  Yesterday I related to a friend that I couldn't recall being so stoked in anticipation of a political speech.  She did not disappoint.  I was totally prepared to be impresssed, but I wasn't prepared to fall in love, and I did, right along with the rest of the country.

She is the poster girl for the Heartland, a self declared non-member of the permanent political establishment, gun-totin, God-fearing, pro-life, career woman, mom, wife, whose grace under fire is only exceeded by her ability to hit back, but harder.  Of all the jabs last night, and there were plenty, my favorite was when she squared up her shoulders, looked straight into the camera and told the media their good opinions mattered less than her doing a good job.  The gal's got pluck.

To witness such venom delivered so sweetly and so pitch perfect just leaves me wanting more.  Obama has met his charismatic match and then some, because she has him beat in the one area he lacks most, authenticity.  Heartlanders have a sense of these things, and she's the real deal.

We heard about her ability to field-dress a moose but we now know she's even better with a filet knife, and last night she used it deftly to carve up a heap of donkey tartar.  How's that for red meat?

Keep the blade sharp and handy Barracuda, you're gonna need it.  The forthcoming reaction to last night's performance guarantees the wolves, i.e. Democrats and media, pardon the redundancy, will regroup for another attack.  When their first response was to attack her children you gotta grimace in anticipation at just how ugly this is gonna get.  Lefties are absolutely reliable in their tendency to over reach, it's really only a question of how far, and the better the Barracuda performs the further it will be.  I've got a distinct feeling new depths of desperation are about to be plumbed.

Sarah Palin committed the unpardonable sins of crashing the coronation, stole the Queen-in-waiting's place in line, totally destroyed the politically correct assumption that the left is the only place for strong women,
and changed history.  Not a bad weeks work for a hockey mom.
